On April 11, 2008, Beth Gray celebrated her 90th birthday. Peacefully and in the presence of loved ones, at home, she made her transition to the Unknown Adventure at 1:48 PM May 13.
Beth's life work was in healing and metaphysics. She founded the first Reiki center
in the United States,
and brought Reiki to the continent of Australia.
Her life has touched thousands, and will continue to affect the young and as-yet unborn.
The Bardo Thodol, a Buddhist funereal purification,
was chanted for her by Lama Gyaltsen Chophel. He carried some of her ashes as he attended the Nechung Oracle, the state oracle of Tibet,
on a trip to Korea and Mongolia, then they were released into India's sacred river Ganges
. Her grandson incorporated another portion of the
ashes into the hull of the Research Vessel Heraclitus during drydock in South Africa; the ship is now in Brazil. .
Paljor Thondup is carrying some ashes to Ladakh and the Himalayas, and her son John has put some on a beautiful mountain in Northern California. After the anniversary of her transition, in 2009,
the
remainder of her ashes will be scattered into the Pacific Ocean by family members.
